Joe Blan Jr. is Past Commander of Tres Pueblos VFW Post 7263, having served in that capacity for 5 years, from 2015 – 2020. He is still part of the Post leadership, currently serving as Senior Vice Commander. He grew up in Troy, Alabama and Milwaukee, Wisconsin. In 1967 at age 18, he joined the United States Navy. In 1968 he was stationed in Da Nang, Vietnam and assigned as a crew member to a Harbor Patrol boat in the Brown Water Navy. His boat guarded and helped keep Da Nang harbor secure.

After an honorable discharge from the Navy, he became a trucking and construction contractor. He has always been an active member of Post 7263, organizing entertainment, barbecues, karaoke and other fundraisers. His business experience and leadership skills have been an asset to Tres Pueblos VFW Post 7263.
