Graham Gomez

Graham J. Gomez was born in the United Kingdom to an American father and an English mother.  They settled in San Jose, California.  Graham has two siblings, a brother and a sister.
 
In August 1983, Graham joined the United States Army,  After basic training at Fort Knox Kentucky, he had Advanced Training (AIT) at Fort Jackson, South Carolina.  Graham's first duty station was United States Military Activities in Ansbach, West Germany, where he was a Postal Clerk from 1984 until the summer of 1985.  In late summer 1985, he transferred to Fort Sam Houston as a Clerk.  Graham left the Army in September 1986.
 
In September 1988, Graham re-enlisted in the U. S. Army as an Intelligence Analyst, with schooling in Arizona.  He was then stationed with the 1st Infantry Division Forward (Big Red One) in Goeppingen, West Germany.  In 1990, Graham served in Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm, with VII HQ.  Right after the first Iraq War, he became an Intelligence Instructor at Fort Huachuca, Arizona.  Graham participated in Somalia in 1993, with Marines from Camp Pendleton, and the Army.  In 1995, he was stationed in Hawaii at Central Identification Laboratory Full Accounting (CILHI), S-2, which recovered remains of U. S. service members from all wars.  Graham worked with U. S. Space Command at Peterson Air Force Base, Colorado in 1998.  He served in Kosovo with 1st Armored Division (1st AD) in 2001, in Sarajevo with Special Ops in 2002, and in the Iraq war of 2003 with 1st AD.  Graham retired from the military in 2005, after watch duty in Norfolk, Virginia.
 
Graham became a Life Member of Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) in 2003, while he was still on active duty.  After he retired from the Army, Graham moved back home to San Jose, California.  In 2011, he moved to Aptos, California and became a member of VFW Post 7263.  Graham retired from the Post Office in September 2025.
